The following list answers some common questions guests have had. If you have further questions, please feel free to reach out to us, as we live three houses down and are always glad to help.
Front Door Lock
The front door code has been programmed to the last four digits of the phone number provided when you booked your reservation. To unlock - Enter the digits, turn the deadbolt counterclockwise then open the door handle. To lock - press the "Schlage" button, pull the door in slightly and turn the deadbolt clockwise.
Wheelchair Accessibility
There is a 4" step up from the AZ room (room with fireplace and backyard/pool access). A full size wheelchair will fit in the bathroom. The master shower has a very small (2”) step-down.
Coffee
We provide a pour-over and French press for those who enjoy coffee (sorry, no drip coffee maker). A QR code is posted on the cabinet with a link to video instructions. We have heard that the pour-over method makes an excellent cup of coffee! We also provide Kirkland Starbucks Medium Roast instant coffee and are happy to pick up a favorite brand if you let us know.
Fire pit
The propane tank is located under the table and is accessed by sliding open the North side panel (closest to the house). Turn on the valve at the tank then turn the control valve counterclockwise to the horizontal position. Press the knob in to activate the ignitor and continue to push in for 20-30 seconds. Now turn the knob further to the clockwise position and adjust to the height of the flame you would like.
Fireplace
The fireplace can only be used with dura flame logs (one included for your stay and already in the fireplace). To open the doors, push them in slightly, then turn the round latch at the top of the doors. There is no flu that needs to be opened or closed.
Recycling
Recycling comes on Fridays, and we will come by and take it to our house for curbside pickup. Later in the day, we will return the recycling container to the carport of the property.
Trash
There are two large trash cans in the carport. If those become full, give us a call or text, and we can empty them.
Pool
The pool can be accessed from a gate in the backyard or from the sliding glass door. It is unheated, and from June to September, it is a dream to swim & play in. We have a selection of pool floats & toys for adults, babies & kids. From October to May, you can soak up the sun lounging by the pool & dip your toes in the brisk water if you dare. During the summer months, we will coordinate with you if your stay coincides with a time that the pool needs to be maintained.
Sliding glass door to the pool
Since the sliding glass door goes directly to the pool, a child lock is at the top right (click to see the Amazon description with photos). Press the button in to disengage the lock and push it up to reengage. There is also an audible alarm on the sliding glass door. The alarm is normally set to "on" which will sound a loud alarm while the door is open; "chime" mode sounds a one-time alert when it is opened, and "off" disables all sounds.
TV / Nintendo Switch / Roku
We provide Disney Plus to our guests and a Roku for accessing your other streaming services. The Roku will prompt you to enter the number of days you are staying and will then log out of all your subscriptions automatically at the end of your stay. We have had some guests log on to their subscriptions from the app on the TV and forget to log out. We try and double-check that and log guests out, but it’s nice to have the Roku do it automatically. There are apps for Netflix, Prime, and many others on the smart TV. The Nintendo Switch is in the drawer under the TV.
Pinball / Arcade Game
Have fun playing our pinball machine or Arcade Legends game. Arcade Legends is loaded with dozens of original classics. The pinball machine's power switch is on the machine's left front leg. The Arcade Legends game remains on.
Alarm System
There is an alarm system in the house that is deactivated while guests are staying. However, it is also hooked up to the smoke detectors, so if you burn the pizza in the oven, not only will you know it, but we will also! If it is activated, we will give you a quick call to make sure everything is fine.
